SUPPORTED BY TEXAS CHESS ASSOCIATION AND UNITED STATES CHESS FEDERATION

A NATIONAL CHESS DAY EVENT-OCTOBER 12, 2019

All profits from this event will be awarded to St Jude’s hospital. Trophies paid for by Texas Chess Association and United States Chess Federation. Venue provided by Texas A&M University in Kingsville. The chief organizer and director for the event will be National Tournament Director/ National Arbiter Eddie Rios.

If you are not a player but want to contribute, we will accept and forward your donations to St. Jude’s

What: A 4 round event with 8 sections: 5 rated sections ( primary(k-3), elementary(3-5), middle school(6-8), high school(9-12), open rated). Current supplement will be used. And 3 non-member sections( under 13 years old, 13 to 18 years old, 19 years and older)

Prizes: For the rated sections: Trophies to top three players, Medals to next 5. Prizes for non-member sections: For the non member players 18 and under, Free 1 year regular memberships to United States Chess Federation for top three players and medals to next 5. For the non-members in the 19 and older section four free one year regular memberships will be awarded to top 4 players and medals to next 5. These memberships carry a value up to $40 each

When: October 12, 2019 National Chess Day

Where: : Texas A&M University Kingsville, – Student Union Bldg. 1505 W. Santa Gertrudis, Kingsville, TX. Student Union Building (sub) upstairs second floor

Time: First Round starts at 10 am.

Time control: G/30;d0 first three rounds, G/45;d0 final rd. Half hour lunch between 2nd and 3rd rd.

Rounds: 4 round sys sys

Tie Breaks: Modified Median, Solkoff, Cumulative, Cumulative of Opposition.

Entry fee: $20 (if received by October 7, 2019 at 5 pm) , Onsite: or $25 (minimum) on site by 9:00 a.m. 10/12/2019. On site will get a first round ½ point bye.

Non- Member sections will not be submitted for rating.

ADA Requests______________________________________ No electronic devices will be allowed, no spectators in playing halls, phones must be turned off and either put away or left out of playing halls. Notation is property of organizer and must be done on paper. Rule 11H1 will be observed. During castling player may touch either rook or king first(variation). Once player is done and score is recorded, player becomes spectator and must exit playing hall. Skittles or analyzing not permitted in playing hall. If player has a question, player must pause clock and raise hand. Chief td reserves right to increase or reduce rds as needed, and combine sections as needed. Tiebreaks will be used for all sections. No po, and online registration available. Cash, checks or money orders please. All other USCF rules applied as needed. Bring your own clocks, and sets if you have them.
